Volunteer Services - Giving Tree

At some time in our lives, we all will face the terminal illness of a family member or dear friend. Having people to turn to for help in making each day, even the last one, worth living is invaluable. That is what Serenity Point Hospice is all about and we serve patients and their families throughout Fulton, Mason, Knox and McDonough Counties.

What We Do

Serenity Point Hospice volunteers provide compassionate, caring support to help families and patients through the difficult times associated with the end of life. We offer volunteers a free, comprehensive training to help equip them to do this important work as well as offer ongoing educational events. Our volunteers work one-on-one with patients and families. Volunteer opportunities include companionship, life review, respite for the primary caregiver, compassionate touch (by licensed practitioners), haircut (by licensed practitioners), running errands or light household help.

Volunteers choose patients in their own communities. They have flexibility in scheduling and spend no more than 4 hours per week with a patient. Unless they are providing respite, visits are not more than 2 hours.
